Celebrities and Influencers Speak on #BlackLivesMatter Panel Series

Celebrities, influencers, and the community came together to discuss positive social change and to help explore tangible solutions at the first Black Lives Matter Panel Discussion curated by CelebsWork at The Spotlight LA Takeover 2016 event organized by DGood Publicity. Panelists included Actor and Recording Artist O'Shea Jackson Jr., Black Lives Matter L.A Chapter Leader Funmilola Fagbamila, CEO/Founder of Brand Maverick Entertainment Steven Jones, and Social Media Influencer and Comedian Juhahn Jones. The panel was moderated by Aileen Briones of CelebsWork.

This panel is the first of a larger series.

"The objective of this series is to help maintain a state of awareness, and to keep the community actively engaged as we are all essential to really achieving long-term solutions," said Briones.

On the panel, Fagbamila shared background on the Black Lives Matter Organization.

"BLM was formed by the most part by unarmed women of color to counteract violence in our communities not inflict more violence," said Fagbamila.

Steve Jones recently gathered over 150 celebrities for a private meeting to discuss how to collectively come together to help "amplify the message" and use the celebrity platform toward positive social change. In addition, he brought out celebrities such as Tina Knowles-Lawson, Marlon Wayans, Meagan Good, Devon Franklin and many others to support #OccupyCityHallLA.

More panels to come. To stay updated on the next event, please subscribe to www.celebswork.com.
